There is places of interest and excursions within the range of 30 minutes, which are worthy of returrning to ,or repeating, from time-to-time on, for new and fresh experiences of those willing to spend their time not only on the beaches.
Kornati National Park - 7 Nautical miles from Murter and 15 Nautical miles from Sibenik and Zadar. The kornati archipelago is a group of 140 uninhabited islands and reefs. A boatride in the national park is enhanced by the visit to the Illiryan ruins, and the amazing view of the park from the look-out spots.
The river Krka is the largest river of central Dalmatia. The most beautiful section of the river istarts from Skradin down on, being part of the Krka National Park. We can take a boatride or a hiking tour around the park. The main attraction is the waterfall named: Skradinski buk. Besides the limestone waterfall we can also visit the francis monastery in Visovac, and an ethnographic exhibition aswell.
The Vransko lake is the largest dimensioned natural lake in Croatia. There is a protected ornithological reserve inside it’s nature park and is also a popular trekking spot among sport fishers.
The town of Sibenik lies at the delta of the river Krka. The town bears several historical notables and sights, from which the most famous ones are: the fortress of Saint Michael, the fortress of Saint Nicholas, the fortress of Subiceva, the church of Saint John, the church of Saint Francis and the renessaince building of the city hall.
